Filigree Pendant (with circle)

Delicate, light weight filigree style silver pendant made from paper thin strips of solid silver which have been hand coiled to create intricate patterns. 

How was it made?

This is a tricky and time consuming technique.  

First the silver clay needed to be rolled into very thin sheets before being cut into narrow strips.  Each coil was then created using a techniqie similar to that of paper quilling, being left to dry in its new form before it was able to be attached to the other shapes in order to develop this unique design. I must admit I found it really fiddly and so the 2 pieces I ctreated in order to experiment with the techniqiue will quite proabbly also be my last - unless I get a bespoke order!

Dimensions  A small, pretty pendant which is easy to wear.
