Acorn Earrings - handmade sterling silver stud earrings

Solid silver stud earrings featuring cute acorns - complete with sterling silver posts and butterfly backs - made from a mould created of a real acorn.

How do I make these mini acorns?

My Aunty found a cute little acorn on a walk at Packwood House and I made a little mould using moulding putty of it.  The acorn isn't harmed in any way and can be returned to where it was found or I might try planting it to grow a little oak tree.

I then used silver clay (Art Clay Silver) in the mould to create a tiny replica of the acorn. You can see the photographs of the process.  Once dry this was fired in my kiln where it is transformed to solid silver as the binder is burnt away.  I hope you like them as much as me.
