About Esther

About Esther

Inspired by nature, Esther Priestley designs and makes silver jewellery from her tiny home studio, nestled in the hills above Sowerby, West Yorkshire.

Esther specialises in using silver clay, an ecological product made of 100% recycled silver.  The precious metal, rescued from industrial waste, has been ground into tiny particles and mixed with an organic binder. The silver clay is shaped, moulded and textured by Esther before she fires it in a small kiln - where the transformation to solid silver takes place. A form of modern alchemy!

She adds colour to her work using gemstones and enamels.

In 2021 Esther achieved her Extended Certification in Precious Metal Clay and registered her hallmark (which is the letters EP inside a black diamond shape) with the London Assay Office.
