Robin Pendant

Delicate hexagonal pendant with a white enamel base featuring a cute robin - an ideal Christmas gift idea or seasonal treat.

These started life as copper hexagons which have then been hand enamelled with layers of powdered glass giving them a glossy appearance. The fronts have a delicate speckled white background and the backs are a darker mixture of enamels so they could be reversed.  Then on the top I have added a slice of patterned millefiori glass, in the shape of a cute robin.  The heat of the kiln fuses the glass bird to the enamel - a tricky process as if the kiln is too hot he will just become an unrecognisable coloured blob, not enough and he falls off! Finally, after a clean up I add a sterling silver earring hoop and chain (made from 100% recycled silver).  

The pendant is presented in a gift box stamped with my logo, these are made from recycled card and the foam insert is produced using tall oil, a waste product created in by paper production!
